On January 17, turning 99-years old na ang only living star ng The Golden Girls na si Betty White.
Nitong COVID-19 pandemic, iningatan si Betty ng mga nag-aalaga sa kanya. Nasa kuwarto lang daw ito ng kanyang bahay pero nagiging productive pa rin daw ito sa ilang at-home activities.
“Betty is in good health and spirits. She would like to interact with her friends but couldn’t due to social distancing guidelines. She does occupy her time with plenty of other safe activities. Crossword puzzles are no match for Betty. She reads a number of newspapers, watches select television and gets a lot of exercise in her home walking up and down bedroom stairs,” sey ng rep ng aktres.
Sa mga nakaka-miss kay Betty, ilalabas sa ilang digital platforms and DVD ang kanyang show noong early ‘70s na The Pet Set. Lalabas ito on February 23, 2021, in honor of its 50th anniversary.
“The DVD set includes 39 half-hour episodes with celebrity guests such as Carol Burnett, Mary Tyler Moore and Burt Reynolds as well as a wide range of animals like tigers, elephants and gorillas,” ayon sa rep ni Betty.
Hindi raw natuloy ang paggawa ni Betty ng Christmas movie for Lifetime noong May 2020 dahil sa pandemic.
“We’re all still dreaming of a white Christmas with Betty White — unfortunately we will have to wait. The movie is was pushed this year due to COVID filming restrictions,” sey ng taga-Lifetime.
Last public appearance ni Betty ay noong September 2018 sa 70th Primetime Emmy Awards. (Ruel Mendoza)
